Dave was the youngest of five children born and raised in Trochu, Alberta.
He was involved in sports from a young age and was an avid hockey player well into his 20’s. David and Aleta moved to Calgary in 1958 where he was employed at the North Hill Sears in various departments. He retired as Maintenance manager in 1988 after 30 years with the company.
Dave loved to work with his hands- from fixing things to making birdhouses, gardening, feeding the ducks and playing with the grandchildren. He loved people and nature and always had a smile and a joke.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Aleta and their three children; Connie Reichel (Shelby), Sandy Courtney (Jim) and Gerry Evans (Tina). Seven grandchildren and their partners, and ten great grandchildren will be missing their Grampa as well.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 3:30 pm at the Brentview Baptist Church (3512 Charleswood Dr. NW Calgary). The service will be live streamed – available on the Brentview Baptist Church website.
