Danielle Christine Priebe

Daniela Priebe (nee Simioli) was born in Ferrara, Italy on Feb 12, 1945 to Ida and Narciso Simioli. After immigrating to Canada in 1952, Ida, Narciso and Daniela eventually settled in Calgary, Alberta. There, the family of three grew to seven, welcoming Theresa, Lily, and Rita, and finally the youngest, Davide.

Daniela enjoyed living in Calgary and her sunny disposition won her many new friends. In the summer of ’61, Daniela caught the eye of a handsome young man named Dennis. It was love at first sight and they happily married three short years later in 1964. They have been by each other’s side ever since. Next to follow were their daughters Corrina, Cindy and Lisa. Daniela was a doting and supportive wife and mother, always ready with a hug and a smile. She deeply loved her family and we all adored her in return.

In addition to being a successful business owner/operator alongside her husband Dennis, Daniela enjoyed a myriad of interests such as gardening, reading, art, cooking, and music. She loved nature; everything from plants and flowers to the birds and squirrels who knew they were always safe in her garden.

Daniela had a warm heart which she readily extended to those around her and she always thought of others first. Her gentle ever-present wit, sense of whimsy, and infectious laughter could light up a room. She was unforgettable. Daniela had the unique ability of bringing out the inner child in in those she knew, leaving them with the joy and wonder of imagination. She had the gift of magic. Daniela was truly one of a kind and we are all better for having known her.

Daniela is predeceased by her youngest daughter Lisa, and survived by her beloved husband Dennis, daughters Corrina (Bradley) and Cindy (Bill), and granddaughters Nicole and Amy.

Our memories are filled with all the wonderful times we shared together. We miss her more than words can describe and we are heartbroken, but her spirit lives on within us. We were so fortunate to have her in our lives.
