After a short and courageous battle with cancer, Connie sadly passed away at the Foothills Medical Center in Calgary at the age of 68 years. She is predeceased by her parents Michael and Delores Volk and brother Bob of Winnipeg. Left to mourn Connie’s loss are her husband Bruce, son Shaun (Tyania) and daughter Lindsey of Calgary; her brothers Ron (Laurie) and Mark (Simone) and sister-in-law Veronica of Winnipeg; as well as several nieces and nephews. Connie received her education at St. Joseph’s Academy in Winnipeg. After high school she attended the University of Manitoba where she received her degree in Home Economics in 1972 with a major in Nutrition. Her initial employment was with Gondola Pizza as a Nutritionist, until she married and moved to Alberta. She retired with AC Neilson after many years of service. Connie loved to travel especially to Europe, Mexico and Hawaii, and had fond memories of working a year in Rome, Italy. She was a busy mom whose priorities were always her children. She loved cooking and knitting and every new born family member received a lovely Afghan blanket. Connie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
