I missed you quietly today. So quietly that no one noticed.

I missed you as I climbed out of bed and as I brushed my teeth; when I waited at the lights on the drive into work and as I heard the rain outside my window.

I missed you as I ordered lunch and as I kicked off my shoes when I got home; as I switched off the lights and climbed into bed for the night.

I missed you without tears or noise or fanfare.
But oh how I felt it.

I felt it in the morning, at lunchtime, in the evening and at night. I felt it as I woke, as I waited, as I worked. I felt it at home, on the road, in the light, in the dark, in the rain.

I felt it in every one of those moments, each one sitting heavier and heavier as the weight of me missing you kept growing and growing.

Yes, I missed you so quietly today.

But I felt it so loudly.

I am saddened to hear of Chris's passing. We went to DeVry together and had some great talks over beer with our classmates. He was gentle and generous and fun. He will no doubt be dearly missed by his family. Condolences to all.

Miranda and Family,

We are so sorry to hear of Chris' passing. As a former fence-to-fence neighbor of Chris, we fell into the family when Miranda kicked a ball over the fence and came knocking at our door, only to discover we have something even more enticing than fresh cookies. We had fresh babies. Twins, in fact. 

That was the beginning of a wonderful f-riendship-amily via Miranda.

Always know that we love you, and cherish our times together. We are sorry that we could not be at the memorial today. We are away on vacation... a place you are familiar with too. Waterton. 

Our thoughts and prayers have been with all of you these past few weeks.

Chris was more than a colleague, but also a friend that I have great memory of time spent together. He was a true gentleman with such a positive attitude.
You’ll be deeply missed, Sir!

I was always impressed by Chris' ability to pivot.  Things don't go how we expect... so here's how we move forward.  He was great to work with, a great guy just to talk to, and I learned so much from him in the time we worked together.  He will be very missed.

I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to Rita, Emile, Danielle, and to Chris' wife and children. His journey on earth has ended, but he  will forever be with you all. I still see him in my mind's eye, smiling warmly.... a special and courageous person. He will be missed. 

I worked with this wonderful man. May his soul rest in peace.

Chris was one of my favourite people of all time. I’ve had the privilege of knowing him since he started with our company. His positive energy, demeanour, and love for life were more than infectious. I am truly saddened I won’t have the opportunity to share a beverage with him during stampede this year. You will be more than missed, my friend. Rest well.

Chris was a GEM, an inspiration and my mentor. I always looked up to  him. I was forever in awe of his patience, kindness and compassion. Although he was my coworker but I also learned from him to be a better human being. I will always remember him with some tears and a smile.

I keep his family in my prayers.

“Good morning, Sir”. Or, “Hello, Sir”. That’s how Chris always started his messages to me at H&R Block. Always the gentleman. Kind, patient, loving. Truly a wonderful human being. Gone too soon, and sorely missed.

Chris walked the world with nothing but courage, love and kindness. He was a colleague, a mentor and above all a friend. You will be dearly missed Chris!!!!

Walking with Chris and Norma and the dogs at our favourite place by the Bow River. This was a very special day as I knew it was the last time I would be with these 2 people in this spot. I wanted to capture what I could, put it in a bottle, and save it.  It was a magical, sunny, and clear day. I miss you Chris, and I miss what you selflessly gave to my grade 1 buddy and her kids. ❤️

I was deeply saddened to learn about the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Chris. His infectious laughter, warm personality, and genuine kindness were qualities that touched the lives of everyone around him. It is truly heartbreaking that such a vibrant and remarkable person is no longer with us. Truly sad to hear this news about Chris. I've worked with Chris for 4 years and I was inspired but his positivity and love for life.  Truly an amazing human and glad to have known him.  My Condolences to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

My dear sister Norma, I am so sorry for the loss of your person Chris. From the get go I could tell the true love he had for you and that shined through in his wedding vows to you on the day you two wed. He had the greatest smile and was such a nice caring person. Although distance did not allow us much time together I always enjoyed spending time with Chris when we did get together. I remember he had some wicked & long bike rides when you guys  came to Vancouver.
RIP Chris, you fought hard-you fought well and you are greatly missed.

I only had the pleasure of knowing Chris for a very short time, but he was always such a positive guy. I'll definitely miss his presence at our pre-lacrosse game meet ups. Rest easy, Chris. It was a delight to have known you. 

“There are special people in our lives who never leave us even after they are gone”

I had the privilege of being with Chris and Norma the week prior to his passing. He was a proud man and didn’t show his pain and never complained. He was so appreciative that I was there.  I also could see the love he had for his family.  
He also loved his car, he said that when he was driving it was like all
the pain was gone and he felt so free.  He had some energy on the Friday May 5th and went for a drive to get a burger. I think he knew that would be his last time but he was determined to do it.  He also organized his magic cards, and wow he had so many.  I asked him about playing magic with his buddies and his face just lit up. 
Thank you Chris for being the 
caring and calm person that shared your life with my sister and  her children. You will be missed! Love Brenda and Steve Harris
