Choi Wan Lilly Wong

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Choi Wan Lilly Wong on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 90 years. Her daughters, Susan and Linda, were present at her side at the sudden passing.

Choi Wan, born on September 21, 1932, in Kai-Ping Quangdong, China, embarked on a new chapter of her life alongside her beloved husband Man Jung when they immigrated to Canada in 1958. Their enduring love and commitment were celebrated with their 65th anniversary in December 2022. Following their retirement, they found great joy in travelling, often visiting Vancouver Island where their two eldest children resided.

Choi Wan was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose love knew no bounds. She is survived by her children Susan (Dave), Henry, Sherry (Angela), and Linda (Craig). In addition, she leaves behind cherished grandchildren Sean (Tamera), Danny (Jessica), Nathan (Tara), Brieanna, Carri (Robert), Loretta (Mark), as well as her adored great-granddaughters Annabelle and Ferelith.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Man Jung and great-grandson Carter, whose memory will forever be treasured.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses, caregivers, and staff at Wing Kei Greenview Long Term Care for their unwavering support and dedicated care during Choi Wan's time there. Their kindness and assistance provided comfort during a challenging period.

Choi Wan Lilly Wong's legacy of love and devotion will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew her. May her soul find eternal peace, knowing that her memory will continue to inspire and guide us in the years to come.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
