My condolences to Carrie’s children, Dave, Sheila, Kevin and Katelyn and families. I was shocked to see this obituary. 
I have so many memories of Carrie from when we were growing up. She was small in stature but big in life!  I spent a lot of time at the Stoesz household. 
Carrie was the pianist for our teenage trio and worked us hard, making sure we were “not flat” and that we sang to our best ability…..always a music teacher.  When Carrie sang, her voice would fill the sanctuary and her piano playing was exceptional!  
I am saddened that her life was cut so short, and that the Stoesz family has had such a huge loss.  I can however, imagine Carrie & her mom being reunited and together filling heaven with sounds of music and unending joy!

Carrie was a musician with unusual ability. More decades ago than I can accurately remember, each Sunday I would wonder how long our tiny little church in Etobicoke would have the privilege of being lifted by the Carrie's preludes! The hours that girl must have practiced and the ease with which she played -- ALL of it was a treasured gift which she held out to us so willingly and quietly each week! Beautiful Carrie! Lovely person! And Trent and Ashley ... your names are well-known to me but I match them in my mind's memory with tiny faces. May you be filled this week with the same peace I experienced so many years ago whenever your Mom would fill that little church with glorious hymns like "It Is Well With My Soul".

My heart was broken for you all when I heard of Carrie’s passing. My memories of Carrie go very far back, as Sheila and I were best friends in high school. Carrie was the older sister, full of wisdom and so much talent. A little bossy at times, but that’s what older sisters do!! Sending prayers and love your way, Ang (Rempel) Thiessen

What a beautiful soul and person.  I had the pleasure of getting to know her when she was the Choir Director at St. Mary's Parish in Cochrane along with her time sharing her talents at Mount St. Francis.  Whilst at MSF, it was easy to see her children share her vocal talents!
She touched many lives!
Ashley, Corrie and Trent ... although it is not an easy time and one is mentally able to come to terms with your Mom's passing, the heart is never ready to say good-bye.  
I'm sure her spirit will be with us at Mount St. Francis on Sundays.

As parents of children who go to Capitol Hill Elementary, we knew Carrie Stoesz as the delightful music teacher who we saw during online lessons during the pandemic. Our middle child wasn’t yet part of the school but was eager enough to join in with her older sister in the very lovely music lessons. While us parents would be working, we felt the colourful energy from Carrie’s lessons which honestly was a welcome boost to our souls while having to work isolated from people we knew. We want to extend our love and hugs to Carrie’s family during this difficult time and know that she was able to leave a remarkable impression on everyone.

Dear Ashley, Trent and family,

It is will deep sadness that we grieve with you, the passing of your most beautiful mom.  I enjoyed my friendship with her and she loved you all so very  deeply.  I will always remember her at the piano, her flawless beautiful talent.  Grieve well and keep her memories alive.

Thank you for sharing your gifts and passion for music with  us and our children.  The love of music you instilled will live on for generations.

Trent, Ashley, Cory, David and family,
In life, we are blessed when we have close friends. I have known Carrie since 2005 because of her tremendous service on CSC worship teams. Of all the musicians at CSC, I worked with Carrie the most. She played with Choir and Orchestra on multiple worship teams for funerals or weddings and often filled in when needed. Her generosity in sharing her musical talent was an inspiration. 

During her separation and divorce, she expressed how lonely she was as most of her friends were also "couple friends." While I am clueless about divorce, I knew there were two things I excelled at. I was good at being single and being a friend. I decided that day to take our friendship beyond CSC worship. That is a decision I will never regret. 

As a result, Carrie became one of the few cherished friends you can have in a lifetime. At times, she kicked my butt when I needed it. It was always done in a stern but loving way. For those who have received this, you know what I am referring to. 

She also gave incredible advice. It was always well thought out and logical. She didn't overlook the emotions of the situation but could always see through them before she spoke. 

She changed my life in so many ways. The only way to summarize it is that she also left a legacy with me. I count it a privilege to get to know her and call her a friend.

Dear Ashley and Trent,
Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss. Your mom was a wonderful person who strongly influenced our lives. We met her at Coffin Elementary when she agreed to give our whole family piano lessons. The way she taught music and approached young kids with such a deep respect for their interests made me often think how talented she must be, and how broad her understanding of humanity is.  She always offered help without any hesitation, judgment, or questions. I have the deepest respect for her and was lucky to have her as a friend.

To Ashley and Trent, it is with the most sincere sympathy that I send my deepest condolences to you.  The attached photo of your mother represents her most heartfelt expression - one filled with love and a caring personality which carried her incredible smile.  Your mother, by far, was the most talented music teacher I have ever had the pleasure to have had on my staff, both, at West Dover and Capital Hill Schools.  She inspired children to love music in so many ways. Her students played in orchestras, performed in operas, shone in choir and were introduced to so many percussion, as well as, musical instruments.  They learned to create, compose and write music.  She acknowledged and encouraged  each child's creativity and musical talent.  Your mother always found ways that permitted her students to be centre stage.  Her talent and love of music had such a positive influence on students, staff, parents, grandparents and artists.  We appreciated that you joined in on our many performances as well.  Your mother was music - continuously spreading her talent wherever she travelled.  We were all very blessed to have experienced her love of music and that she shared her many gifts and talents was our blessing.  Know that in the quietest of moments, you will hear the angels sing and it will be your mother leading the choir.  We can be assured that in her lifetime she touched many hearts and her memory will forever sing and play with lasting joy within each of our souls.
