Carol Luanne Rohloff Jepson passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Peter Lougheed Centre, losing her battle with ALS. Carol was the beloved wife of John Paul Jepson. She was born in Calgary in 1941, the daughter of John and Evelyn Rohloff. She graduated from Crescent Heights High School and continued her education at the University of Calgary becoming a teacher. She taught English at Queen Elizabeth High School and William Aberhart High School. In her younger days Carol enjoyed roller skating, skiing, and travelling. One of her greatest interests was following the careers of the many students she taught and in whom she instilled an appreciation of English and the delights of reading. Carol and John met while both were teaching at Queen Elizabeth and married in 1991. Carol is survived by her husband John as well as her step-daughters Lynne (Gerard) McLaren, Elizabeth (Wayne) Rooke, and step-son Paul Jepson, brother Robert Rohloff, sister-in-laws Maureen and Carla Rohloff, Auntie Pat Johnston, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents John and Evelyn Rohloff, brothers Lyn Rohloff and Gregg Rohloff, nephew Cameron Rohloff, and sister-in-law Catherine Rohloff. Carol loved visiting with family, and getting together with school friends, just going out for lunch or shopping. She was very active in the Arthritis Society and ALS Society. The family wishes to thank the members of ALS Society and associated professional caregivers involved with Carol during the recent trying times. A Funeral Service will beheld at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Alberta, 400, 320 – 23 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB or a charity of your choice.
