Brian was a dedicated husband, father, brother, son and friend. Brian leaves behind loving memories with his wife Rosemary, and children Erin (Joel Blain) & Kristen (Josh Davis). He is fondly remembered by his sister Lynn and brother Robert, along with many nieces and nephews. He joins the loving arms of his parents, George and Katie, along with his Aunt Mary and Uncle Tom.
Brian was born in Hamilton, Ontario. He graduated as a Chemical Engineer from the University of Waterloo, and soon moved to Calgary, Alberta with Rosemary. Recognized as a highly respected member of APEGA, he spent over 40 years contributing to one of his greatest passions in life; Alberta’s oil and gas industry.
From a young age, Brian had an insatiable appetite for knowledge and continuous learning that was matched only by his genuine curiosity. His intellect was far reaching, and he frequently shared his wisdom over a glass of wine at the dinner table. His family fondly remembers the ‘homework’, or required readings he would give as a new project for Sunday dinner conversations. Brian was a tangible version of Duck-Duck-Go.
Brian had many passions and interests. Among them, he loved photography, travelling, the outdoors and hiking; being a trailblazer as family and friends struggled to keep his pace.
Brian will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and colleagues for his sense of humour and antics. He always lit up a room.
His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Foothills Medical Centre, Unit 47.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Brian’s name online to The Calgary Health Trust in support of the Foothills Medical Centre.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Luke's Parish, 1566 Northmount Dr. NW, Calgary, Alberta on Friday, November 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
