Bing Lee Tse

Bing is survived by his beloved wife, Mon Tong; his children, Doug (Virginia Wong), Linnie, Maylin, Dick, and Robert (Jessy Zhao); his grandchildren, Cameron (Bonita Loke), Jade, and Amber; his great grandchildren, Gemma and Nora. He was predeceased his eldest daughter, Betty.

Bing was born on May 20, 1927 in China. He married Mon Tong Chow at age 21 and moved to Hong Kong in 1946. He left his wife and 2 children behind in Hong Kong to immigrate to Canada in May 1953. He landed in White Rock, BC and eventually moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan where he operated a small grocery store (the “Lucky Dollar”) with his father-in-law. In 1976, he moved with his wife and 6 children to Calgary, Alberta. In Calgary, he worked for the Calgary CO-OP till retirement in 1992. Bing took up golf in retirement and enjoyed the game so much that he was out nearly every day for years. He was a private family man, but he enjoyed people, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was well liked by those who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
