Barry Martin

It is with deep sadness that we announce Barry Martin passed away on January 8, 2012 at the age of 77 after a courageous battle with cancer. Barry is survived by his dedicated, loving wife of 53 years, Millie, as well as his daughter Lynda (Dave), son Brian, and granddaughters Jessica, Lindsay, and Ashley. Barry was predeceased by his parents Tom and Louise Martin.

Barry was born in Carberry, Manitoba. He spent his childhood in Winnipeg and then some time in Thunder Bay and Sault Ste Marie before spending most of his adult life in Calgary. Barry was a lifelong salesman who was passionate about his work and continued working until August of last year when his failing health forced retirement. Barry met and had many good friends throughout his career.

Barry’s family wish to thank the wonderful staff at the Foothills Country Hospice in Okotoks for their dedicated, loving care and making his last days of fighting cancer as comfortable and peaceful as possible. A funeral service in Barry’s honour will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South, (at Lake Fraser Gate) Calgary on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 12:00 p.m.
