With overwhelming sorrow we share the passing of Ashley Danielle Stannard on August 2, 2013 at the age of 23 years. She will be lovingly remembered by both her parents Daniel and Judy Stannard; sister, Tanya McCormack (Mike); brothers, Tyler Stannard (Samantha), Austin Stannard; Gramma Jessie Cosgrove and Grandpa Dave Stannard. She will also be lovingly remembered by uncles, aunts and cousins; Dean and Vonda Cosgrove, Robert, Ritchel and Tashena, Donna and Gary Epp, Tim and Jessica, Lacey and Cody Cosgrove, Christine and Gary Benson, Scott, Melissa and Taylor, David Stannard, Joey and Jordan, Dianne Ziegenhagel, Jake and Maddy; and numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by her grandpa Peter Cosgrove, uncle Rick Cosgrove, Grandma Eleanor Stannard, Great Grandma Heise, and cousin Kirstin Benson. Ashley was conceived as a twin but her sibling didn’t survive to full term. The year and a day difference in age between her and her older sister and their extremely close relationship fooled most into believing that they were twins. She was born in Medicine Hat and lived in Davenport Iowa for the first year of her life. The family then moved to Calgary where she resided until her passing. She was extremely intelligent as well as beautiful and excelled at academics. She loved very deeply, always forgave quickly and gave generously of her time, talents and finances without limits. Ashley lived out her life fully for God but especially over last few months she completely trusted Him with her life. She was a natural leader and very passionate about basketball in her teen years and played point guard even though she was usually the shortest player on the team. As a family, we were so blessed to have taken many trips to various sunny destinations and always treasured our time together. She was always encouraging and her compassionate and wise advice were often sought out by her family and friends. She graduated from Grant McEwan University December of 2012 as a Psych Nurse and looked forward to using her compassionate skills to form her own home care company. She will be missed terribly by all that were fortunate enough to know her. A Celebration of Ashley’s Life will be held at Centre Street Church (Main Campus) 3900 – 2 Street N.E., Calgary, AB on Friday August 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to God’s Littlest Angels Haitian Baby Ministry via the website www.glahaiti.org. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
