He leaves behind his loving wife of 69 years, Maria, sons Michael (Sandra) and Alesandro (Brenda). He was predeceased by his daughter Tina and son in law Giuseppe, his parents Michael and Constantina Festa, as well as his 13 brothers and sisters and great grandchild Matteo. He also leaves behind grandchildren Damien (Dali), Carla (Kent), Adam (Meghann), Natasha, Lucas, Cassandra, Jessica and Tony. Also great grandchildren Domenic, Heath, Marcus and Mila.
Antonio immigrated to Canada in 1953 and worked for the railway in Creston, BC for six months and then found employment at the Galloway, BC sawmill. His wife joined him 13 months after his arrival in Canada along with his daughter Tina and son Michael. In 1957 his son Alesandro was born. In 1958 the family moved to Calgary where he was employed with Borger Construction, which later became Standard General. He retired from Standard General in 1984 after 25 years of service.
Antonio’s passion was family, gardening, and making his traditional wine. He loved family get togethers and especially playing cards, bocce, and fishing with his brothers.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, a memorial service for Antonio will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the charity of choice.
