With sadness, the family of Anna Larkin announces her passing on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 at the Calgary Foothills Hospital for cancer treatment. We want to leave this remembrance of her as she was so dear to us.
Anna was born in Kaslo, BC and soon after she moved with her family to Australia where she lived for several years while a young child. Following their return to Canada, she lived in Kelowna, BC and then the small town of Summerland, BC where she graduated from high school in 1981.
She ventured to Calgary, AB in 1982 as a young woman of 22 where she met Ross and married him in September 1984. She worked in her career as an accounts payable clerk while raising two sons, Andrew and Graham.
Over the years she and her family moved and lived in 18 different locations across Canada from Summerland, B.C. to Saint John, N.B. During that time in Saint John her husband worked in Camden, Maine where she fell in love with the charm and lifestyle of New England.
Anna was an artist who loved the culinary world and also took courses in interior design. She was planning to take professional training this fall in the field of flower arranging and make her final career change.
She was never one to take the same road back in life’s journey. She ventured with an open mind and experienced all the extra life she could. She practiced Reiki and meditation and gained strength to lead her family through her and our darkest hours with strength and bravery. She believed the best of everyone and believed that we are all here preparing for a special life ahead.
However her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Maya and John filled her life with special purpose. She so wanted to be a part of their lives and to be a strong source of extra love and support for them as they grew through their years. The children adored her and became especially close to their grandmother.
Anna is survived by her husband Ross, sons Andrew and Graham and Graham’s wife Nara and their children Maya and John. They will always hold her dear in their hearts as a living memorial.
She will be cremated and her ashes scattered at Alberta Park’s Glenbow Ranch near Calgary, AB
