Ana Leonor Rodriguez

After a protracted battle with cancer, Ana Leonor Rodriguez (Nonoy) passed away peacefully on November 1, 2022 in Calgary, AB at the age of 91 surrounded by family. She leaves behind her daughter, Luz Stella and her sons, Alvaro, Alberto and German Rodriguez. Ana Leonor is predeceased by her husband Alfonso Rodriguez.

Ana Leonor was born on May 18, 1931, in Bogota, Colombia, to her father Rodolfo Alfonso and mother Teresa Rodriguez, who predeceased her. She grew up in a large and loving family with 4 sisters and two brothers.

Ana and her husband Alfonso immigrated to Canada in 1988 where they reunited with three of their children and their families.

When diagnosed with breast cancer she remained dedicated to her family and in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave and loving iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months.

Ana is survived by her children, as well as her sister Teresa Medina; her brother Jose, and her sons Alvaro (Marlen), Alberto and partner, German and partner, Luz Stella (Dan), as well as her grandchildren, (Jennifer, Jhoanna, Mauricio, Andrea, Mateo, Misha, Chrissie, Alaine and Stefan) and great-grandchildren (Daniela, Juan Camilo, Lucas, Gabriel, Sofia, Sierra, Brodie, Layla, Lowen and Elias.)

Ana requested to be cremated. Her ashes will be interred in Vancouver, British Columbia at a later date. A short memorial service via Zoom from Dignity Memorial Funeral Home will take place on November 6, 2022 at 11:00 am in Calgary.
