An was born in the city of Bạc Liêu, Việt Nam, the third born of three children. In 1979 An and his wife Van fled war torn Việt Nam with their children in hopes of a better life. They arrived in Prince Albert, SK and were so graciously sponsored by the Calvary United Church.
An is survived by his loving wife (Linda) Van Do Tran of 44 years, 9 children and 17 grandchildren.
An’s family was of utmost importance to him. His love for his family was extraordinary and he felt comfort in a noisy house full of children running around. An loved deeply and cherished his conversations with friends and family. He could often be heard telling stories of his beloved Vietnam to all that knew him, and he had so many wonderful stories to tell. An struggled with health issues the last few years of his life and though he will be profoundly missed, his family can be at peace knowing he is spared of all suffering.
“Tinh yêu thương của gia đình và sự quí mến đối với bạn bè là hạnh phúc nhứt của đời tôi”,
