Al was originally from North Tonawanda, New York and moved to Calgary in 1965 with his family. After a career at the University of Calgary, he retired in 1990 and was then able to pursue many of his loves like salmon fishing, cooking and painting.
He will be missed by his family and friends. Al is predeceased by his mother and father, 8 of his siblings, as well as by his wife, Mary Lou Rossow (2008). Al leaves to mourn, his loving daughter Sue (Rod) Skrip of Calgary, his son Robert (Kim) Rossow of Seattle, his granddaughter, Lauren Rossow and his grandson, Chris Skrip; as well as many, many nieces, nephews and friends in New York, Calgary and elsewhere.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and caregivers at the Beverly Centre, Midnapore for the love and support they provided to Al.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held at South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail SE, (at Lake Fraser Gate) on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
