Robert John Grit

Robert "Bob" Grit, age 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 28, 2023. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Josephine Grit; son, Jerry Grit; and daughter, Kristi (Grit) Warner. He is survived by children Ron Grit, Doug Grit, Lisa (Leo) VanVliet, Mitchell (Jill) Warner; grandchildren Jayme (Brent) Moran, Heather (Rob) Bradley, Tara (Blaine) Dolinger, Alyssa (Derek) Rogers, Kelly Warner, Andrew (Sarah) VanVliet; six great-grandchildren; sisters Patty Durham and Darlene Grit; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. His life was one of good humor, family, and his love for God. He was a faithful, dedicated member of his church; he loved his church family. Bob had a passion for outdoor activities. He loved working in his garden, golfing, and most of all hunting with his boys.

Visitation with the family will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday December, 1, 2023 at Cook Funeral Home - 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2 at First Byron Christian Reformed Church, 8541 Byron Center Ave. SW, Byron Center, with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to service. Bob will be laid to rest at Winchester Cemetery. In memory of Bob and lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dutton Christian School.
