Oscar Cuevas

Oscar Cuevas, age 39, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, November 15, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Guillermo and Eulogia Rodriguez; uncle, Jesus Rodriguez; and grandfather, Laurentino Cuevas.

Oscar will be lovingly remembered by his children Miguel, Isaiah, Oscar Jr., J’shaun, Jeremiah, Omarianna, Michael, Gabriel, Ivan, Josiah, Malachi, Eliana, Hezekiah; parents Miguel and Maria Cuevas; siblings Mike (Abby) Cuevas, Marisol (Derrick) Sims, Tony Cuevas; uncle, Alfonso Rodriguez; nieces and nephews Javier, Belicia, Evalisse, Rozalie Cuevas, Cecilia, Derrick, Shawn, Dermariellus Sims, Gina, Lola, Tony Jr., Angel, Liliana Cuevas; and an abundance of family and friends.

Oscar was born in San Antonio, Texas February 8, 1985. He was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Oscar attended church at Grand Rapids First. Oscar enjoyed spending time laughing and spending quality time with his family, children, and friends. He was always a hard worker - working alongside his brothers, dad, sons, and nephews throughout the week. He was currently striving to move forward in his craft and begin a construction company with his brother, Mike. Oscar was a very kindhearted man who cared for everyone he met and made an impact on anyone who got a chance to meet him. Oscar was an amazing son, brother, uncle, father, and friend, and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, Michigan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 22, at the funeral home, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. The family welcomes participation in the service, so please consider sharing a favorite story or memory of Oscar. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
