Lee was preceded in death by his son, Brent Lee Reed; parents Ida and Lee; and seven siblings. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Shirley; children Karie (Craig), Teri (James), Jason (Robin), and Scott (Danielle); siblings Gary, Ron, and Diane; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Lee also cherished the companionship of special friends Belinda and Bill. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Autumn for her compassionate care.
A devoted family man, Lee found immense joy in spending time with his loved ones. He adored spoiling his grandchildren, taking them to the park, and creating lasting memories through shared activities like bowling and softball. An avid sports fan, Lee was fiercely loyal to the St. Louis Cardinals and took great pride in cheering for the Razorbacks, Lions, Tigers, and especially the Byron Center Bulldogs.
Lee dedicated 32 years of his life as a custodian for the Byron Center Public School system, where he left a lasting impression on students and staff alike through his hard work and kind spirit.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Cook Funeral Home – Byron Center Chapel (2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI). A funeral service will take place 1 p.m. Thursday, January 9, with visitation prior from 12-12:45 p.m., also at Cook Funeral Home.
