Janet B. Adams, age 92 of Byron Center, was scooped gently into the arms of Jesus moments before Palm Sunday on March 23, 2024. Her family rejoices with her this Easter season as she participates in the resurrection celebration in Heaven with her Lord and Savior.
Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Roger Adams; parents Virgil and Dorothy Taylor; brothers Howard and Virgil Taylor; sister, Ruth Taylor; and grandsons Justin Johnson and Jordan Adams. She is survived by her children Paula and Dennis Rasey, Nancy and Stan Roberts, Jan and Steve Johnson, Fay and Gary Carpenter, Dorothy and Mike Adams, Warren and Ruth Adams; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was born to Virgil and Dorothy Taylor on January 21, 1932. She gave her life to the Lord during her teen years while attending the United Methodist Church in Byron Center. Shortly after giving her life to the Lord, she married Roger, and together they began ministry with the American Missionary Fellowship. On top of raising six children, Janet's outreach to children included a lifetime of teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Bible Camp. Her primary purpose in life was to love others and serve her Lord. She disciplined herself to read through the entire Bible each year. Janet had a zest for life and enjoyed any and all activities that her children or grandchildren proposed. Her wisdom, bright smile, and loving gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2024 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. following visitation at the funeral home. Janet's family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresbyron.com in their online guest book.
