Dean Elliott, age 63 of Byron Center, MI, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, April 2, 2023. He was born to William and Marion Elliott November 13, 1959, in Detroit, MI, and married Brenda Van Strien December 7, 1991.
After graduating from Taylor Center High School in Taylor, MI, Dean attended Central Bible College in Springfield, MO and graduated from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. As an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, Dean shared the gospel message in over 50 countries, pastored a church for 11 years, and also served as interim pastor for churches. He found great joy in presenting missionary, Christmas, Easter and patriotic dramas in congregations nationwide. Dean's passion was encouraging and training future pastors in India and his life goal was to share the love, forgiveness, and hope found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Elliott; father-in-law, David Van Strien; and sister-in-law, Linda Van Strien. He will be cherished and deeply missed by his wife, Brenda; son, Nathan and fiancée, Taylor Hill; daughter, Lauren and boyfriend, Kyle Burgess; sister, Deb (Greg) Hoeft; sister-in-law, Pat Elliott; mother-in-law, Lois VanStrien; in-laws Bruce and Sheri VanStrien, Jim and Suzanne VanStrien, Judy and Karl Doezema, Jane and Chad Lubbers; nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends from around the world.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023 at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, Michigan. A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Grand Rapids First, 2100 44th St. SW, Wyoming, MI 49519, with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
