Charles Walter Gress

Charles “Chuck” Gress, age 97 of Byron Center (formerly of Wyoming), went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 9, 2024. His parents Milburn and Fairie Gress preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Donna; their children Nancy (Dennis) VandenBrink, Chuck Gress Jr.; grandchildren Amy, Ellen (Steve), Charlie; and great-grandson, Gavin.

Chuck was a people person and worked in many jobs helping people, first as an assistant manager at Morton House (where he and Donna met), then as an insurance sales agent, a real estate agent, and finally retired from the city of Wyoming as the City Clerk. Summer weekends were spent at Sandy Pines and winters enjoying Venice, Florida.

The funeral service for Chuck will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2024 at his church, Wesley Park United Methodist Church (1150 32nd St. SW Wyoming, MI 49509). The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. prior to the service. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresbyron.com in their online guest book.
