Three weeks ago, our mother, Caroline, suffered a severe stroke and on Monday, October 11, 2021, God called her home to Heaven. She was reunited with her husband of 63 years, Henry; their son, Gary; and Mom's brother, Ray Steenwyk; along with other family members and dear friends.
She leaves behind her daughters Pam (Steve) Hondorp, Sheryl (Brian) DeWeerd, Jodi (Stephen) Salisbury; 12 loving grandchildren; nine precious great-grandchildren; brother, Ben Steenwyk; along with many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Our mom joyfully celebrated her 90th birthday this past June 16 with family and friends and rejoiced along with her church family as a charter member of Heritage CRC at the 50th anniversary in September. Faith, family, and friends were her reasons for living. She was a mother, grandma, and GG who graciously passed along her love of Jesus to us all through the way she lived her life. Her church family also helped her in so many ways in the past years and were so very dear to her.
Please join us from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 14 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 - 84th Street in Byron Center for visitation.
