

Claire “Cita” Evans passed away March 24, 2014. She was born to Dewitt and Claire Peck October 6, 1951 in Mineral de la Reforma, Coahuila, Mexico. She was married to Kenneth Evans and resided in the Fall River Valley for 37 years. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at UC Riverside and teaching credentialing from Chico State University. Her career includes 22 years of teaching Spanish, Home Economics, English, and Study Skills at Fall River Junior-Senior High School. Her teaching was not limited to just those subject areas though. She endured an autoimmune disease, Wegener’s Granulomatosis for 17 years, and served as an educational advocate to spread awareness of immune compromised conditions. Her greatest passion and enjoyment was the fiber arts, and she was forever integrating the arts into all of her teaching. She was a long time member of the Country Weavers group.
She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Wilke, son Clinton Evans, and 4 grandchildren Justin, Morgan, Connor, and Dylan.
In lieu of flowers the the family requests any donations be made to the Burney-Fall River Education Foundation. A celebration of life is planned for April 5th, 11:30 a.m. at Fall River High School. A lunch reception will follow.
