On November 3, 2018, after a short battle with cancer, William Roy “Billy” Taylor of Kingsland went to be with his Lord. The son of Herman “Red” and Carmen (Fowler) Taylor was born July 14, 1950, in Burnet and grew up in Bertram before moving to Missouri, marrying his beloved wife of 20 years, Wanda.
Billy’s love of volunteering at the Highland Lakes Church of Christ Food Pantry was only one example of his desire to be a good and faithful servant of God. Although he had no formal training, Billy’s inner beauty was revealed in his oil painting, which he loved to share with everyone.
Billy is survived by his older brother Brian of Amarillo and sisters Joyce Taylor of Flower Mound and Sherry (Taylor) Wills and husband Ken Love of Kingsland. Also surviving is his extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda and his parents Red and Carmen.
A viewing for family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 6th from 6-8 PM at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Billy’s celebration of life service will held Wednesday, November 7th at 11 AM at the Kingsland Church of Christ with Minister Joe Winnett officiating. Burial will follow at 2 PM at the Bear Creek Cemetery in Bertram.
