My grandfather, Wayne McCombs was the sweetest man alive he always made jokes. He would always wrestle with us and throw my brothers in the lake. Just wanna say how much i miss him.

He was very loving and kind and loved to rustle with dylan would sit outside with me and loved holding me as a baby 

I am a stranger who just watched the Jason McCombs case on A&E. May your family be comforted at this time. Wayne McCombs must have been an awesome man and he really touched me with his remarks on the show. God bless you.

To the Mccombs family I am so very sorry for your loss. I know  you do not know me but I seen a program on TV concerning your son & I could tell right away that you were  good people & a loving family. 
I feel we have something in common as my Mother passed away in May of 2008 with a glioblastoma brain tumor & then my Dad passed in Jan 2016 also from a brain tumor.

I was only lucky enough to meet Wayne a couple of times but he instantly welcomed me into his home and put a smile on all our faces. Despite being very sick he didn't stop making us laugh and kept a smile on his face as he recounted amusing family stories of his children growing up and of being a police officer. It was abundantly clear that Wayne was a great man and was surrounded by a very loving family. I am sure like me, everyone whom he met probably left with a smile on their face and fond memories of a kind and lovely man. Rest in peace Wayne and thank you for the time I spent with you and for sharing your stories. Ollie 

Some of my fondest childhood memories are of camping with the McCombs and Pritchard families.  Wayne - always fun, calm and sweet, and Jack - never a dull moment:).  Both will always have a place in my heart.  Love and prayers to Susie and family.

We knew Wayne from the neighborhood and storage buildings.  Wayne always kept Island Lodges Roads busy when he was able to go, many trips a day, but always had time to shout out to his neighbors.  When he started driving his golf cart around he would  stop for a visit, and he loved to chat.  We will remember Wayne as a "Man on the GO".  Enjoy the smooth roads  in Heaven Wayne.

I became Wayne's only brother-in=law in 1958 when he was 9 years old he gave me many memories over the next 52 years when his sister passed away.  I will never forget the time he told me that in 1958, Feb. 7 he did not think I would make a very good brother-in-law but in the next 52 years I made an acceptable one which to me was great praise coming from him.  He will be sorely missed and my sincere condolences to Sue especially and to the rest of the family, one last thing about Wayne, and I still don't know how he got by with only one meal per day for many years.

I am so sorry for your loss. Wayne worked with me part time in Sears security. During the years together he taught me alot. He was great to work with and will be missed. 

I came on in 1969 and started working with Wayne on a uniform patrol shift. Being the rookie my first invite to checkout for coffee was from Wayne. He gave me the lowdown about what was going on in the section and gave me some Field Training advice and introduced me to the other district men.  After a few years we went to different units. We remained good friends. Although we never worked in the same unit again I will remember those first few days. Thanks Wayne

I am truly so sorry for your loss. Wayne was always friendly and so nice. It was always obvious that family meant everything to him. I know he will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to you during this time.

I worked with Wayne on the SAPD Vice Squad. I can say that Wayne was one of the nicest gentleman that I’ve ever met. He was serious about his job, had the nicest disposition and easily shared a smile. He treated everyone with respect and he was genuinely a good friend. 

I retired in 1994 and every time we lose a police officer, active or retired, my heart breaks and I lose a little bit of my heart. We lost 17 brother officers during the time I served. Now, I’m losing friends who I worked alongside and I hurt  even more. Please accept my sincere condolences. May my friend Rest In Peace and may our Lord have a nice place for him. May God bless your family and give you strength to get through this rough time. We will see Wayne again.

Wayne was a fellow detective in the SAPD Vice Unit during the 1980s.   He was fun to work with, always a professional, honest as the day is long. I was very sadend to learn of Wayne's recent passing.  Wayne was a really great guy to know and to work with.  I have many great memories of he and I and other officers working the northwest part of San Antonio back in the 60's and 70's. 

One could always count on him to back you up and be there when he was needed.  I hope he felt the same about us as we were a really close knit group. 

May we meet again in the hereafter. Rest in Peace my friend.
