Victor Gonzales Ortiz Jr., age 58 of San Marcos, TX passed away peacefully to be with the lord on November 24th, 2016 in Burnet, TX. Victor was born on March 18, 1958 in Fentress, TX. He was the son of Victor Ortiz Sr. and Josefina Gonzales. He was raised with four brother’s and four sister’s. Husband to Silvia Miranda Ortiz and father to Sonya, Gloria, Lisa, Reyna, Tomas and Victoria. His heart remained in the hands of his grandchildren whom he loved and adored. In the 80’s he became and entrepreneur and owner of Victor’s roofing, he enjoyed playing recreational softball with team A’s of San Marcos, TX and also became a president of “Estilo Chicano” low-rider car club. In the 90’s he became a member of Victory Outreach Church where he received Jesus as his lord and savior and use his knowledge to go out to the streets and spread the word of God and show the love of Christ. He also attended Bible school in San Antonio, TX but most recently he preached to the troubled teens at the Juvenile Detention Center in San Marcos, TX. When not sharing the word of God he would be found working as a gardener and groundskeeper of “Wake the Dead” coffee shop of San Marcos, TX. One of his favorite hobbies was to be a reenactor and also had a couple of opportunities to be an extra in a couple of well known movies such as “The Alamo” and “Machete”. He enjoyed working there because he would enjoy conversing with the patrons would spare the time to listen to his anecdotes. He was a great storyteller and a man that tried, to the best of his abilities to follow the Bible and to be a man after Gods own heart. He loved leading people to the lord and would help anyone he saw in need. Of all the things he could leave behind was that he could pass on the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the love he gave everyone.
