Timothy Fred Roberts was born on March 29th, 1937 in Decatur, Illinois. Tim was the youngest of 12 children born to Clarence and Helen Roberts and he grew up on a farm in Michigan where his parents reinforced the value of hard work and integrity. He attended Portland High School where he met Jacqueline (Jackie) Emmons as a freshman. Upon graduation, the high school sweethearts were married and together they raised four children: Theresa Seibold, Tim Roberts Jr (JoDee), Rose Roberts, and Donna Roberts. They have 7 grandchildren: Robert Seibold (Nina), Sean Seibold (dec.), Tim Seibold (McKinsey), Jessica Darrow (Nathan), Tim Roberts III (Jamie), Nicole Swindall (Ronny), and Monica Langhorst (Kyle) who have given them 11 great-grandchildren. Tim valued his family above all, and he and Jackie spent 67 years together enjoying their family. Jackie passed in November 2022.
Tim had numerous interests and skills. He obtained his pilot’s license in the late 1960s, and with Jackie, they enjoyed flying their family to visit friends and relatives. Tim was a master woodworker and could often be found in his shop crafting pieces for his family and friends, as well as volunteering his skills to the church and community. Tim was an avid fisherman and was always eager to combine his love for family and friends with his hobby, spending hours on the lake with his grandchildren and anyone else who wanted a chance to reel in a fish. His bookshelves were filled with WWII books, and he could easily recount key dates, strategies, and lesser-known facts about the war. Tim and Jackie owned and operated their own businesses, Roberts Landscaping in MI and Plantland Inc. in Austin, TX. They worked for Gene Naumann Real Estate a few years and were active volunteers in an organization that advanced and protected individuals with developmental disabilities.
Tim will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and anyone who found encouragement through his advice and wisdom.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday, April 27th, 3PM at First United Methodist Church of Burnet. Address: 301 E Graves St., Burnet, TX 78611. All are welcome to attend.
