Ruby Mae Taylor, age 84 of Bertram passed away Monday, October 14, 2013. Ruby was November 25, 1928 in Liberty Hill to Marshall and Lena (Whitehead) Copeland. She was the youngest of eleven children. Ruby married Paul O. Taylor in May 1946 and they lived in Bertram where they raised their three children.
Ruby dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked at the Oaks Nursing Home for thirty-five years and raised her grandchildren. Ruby’s greatest joy was her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed car rides down county roads, yard sales, and telling stories to her family about her memories. She was the kindest and most loving woman in the world, always there to just listen or give advice.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, son Larry Taylor, grandson Eddie King, and in-laws Sophie and Flow Taylor. She is survived by her daughter Peggy Rogers, grandchildren Lisa Lovett, Patty King, Mike King, Debbie King, Chris Severson, Robin Severson, and Amanda Osteen. She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
A visitation for Ruby will held Wednesday afternoon October 16th from five until seven at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon October 17th at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Bear Creek Cemetery near Bertram. Those named as pallbearers were C.J. Foster, Anthony Foster, Tevin Foster, Nick Foster, Nathan Bega, Tristan Severson, Brad King, and Joseph King. Those named as honorary pallbearers were Donnie Bega, Jonathan Bega, Mike King, Chris Severson, and Charles Rogers.
