Richard “Burt” McVicker, 91, passed away at his home in Burnet, Texas on February 12, 2024. He was born in Logan, Oklahoma to parents Rachel and Charles McVicker on April 28, 1932. Burt was a blessing to this earth. He was a devoted husband to Lavelta McVicker for 68 years. Burt and Vel shared a love of travel. They visited every state in the United States in addition to many international locations, including Israel, Korea, and Japan. Burt spent his life serving others selflessly. He was a member of the U.S. Navy in addition to volunteering countless hours of his time in church nurseries in El Paso and Marble Falls. He is survived by his brother Vernon, granddaughter Bonnie, and great-granddaughter Charlotte. They will miss him more than words can express, but they are so glad that he has been reunited with Vel in Heaven. A memorial service to celebrate his life and lasting impact will be held on Saturday, March 16th at 12:30 PM at the First Assembly of God Church at 96 Main Street in Marble Falls, Texas.
