Peter Cobb Mills, age 69, of Liberty Hill, Texas passed away on June 12, 2010. He was born on September 29, 1940 in Long Island City, New York, in the same home where his 90 year young mother still lives in and enjoys. He was the son of George Celander Mills a civil engineer and Mildred Cobb a devoted wife and mother. Pete was a IT Project Manager for most of his life. After college landed a wonderful job with American Airlines where he met his wife Cookie. That was the beginning of an exciting 21 year career that facilitated traveling all over the world making life long friends wherever he went. His love of planes gave way to a private jet picture collection shared with numerous friends and collectors worldwide. He and his wife Cookie and father in-law Luis moved to Liberty Hill in August 2006 after retiring from his 18 year career with Direct TV in California. He enjoyed salt water fishing, gardening and bowling. He and Cookie were married for 28 years. Pete never met a stranger. The love of God was always in his heart and he shared it with everyone he met. Pete had a love of life where he put God, Country,family and friends above all else. He will be profoundly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years Cookie Mills of Liberty Hill, Texas, Luis Caprarella father-in-law of Liberty Hill; mother Mildred Mills of Long Island City, New York; sister Barbara Benkert of Atlanta, Ga.; nieces Diana Pisaneschi of Kentucky, Jean Rodrigo of Georgia; grand niece and nephew Jessica and Joseph Rodrigo; several aunts, uncles and cousins
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Funeral services and celebration of his life will be Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Clements-Wilcox Chapel interment will follow at the Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet, Texas. Celebration of Pete’s life will be followed by a light lunch and refreshments at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home.
