Mary Jane Martich was born on Dec. 20, 1925 in Fort Worth, Texas and grew up in Justin, Texas. After graduating high school in 1942, she moved to Dallas and worked at Republic National Bank’s war department throughout the course of WWII. While visiting her brother in a military hospital, she met the man of her life, then Army paratrooper Marko Martich, and they were married in 1945 in the Catholic Church. They had their first son Mark on Nov. 15, 1946, and, after a stint with Marko’s family in Chicago, returned to Dallas in December 1946. Their second child Carol was born on Sept. 22, 1947 and second daughter Diane was born on May 3, 1955. Mary Jane worked in real estate sales and also spent 10 years as a lead adjustor in Neiman Marcus' Horchow Collection customer service department. Her husband Marko died on Oct. 1, 1989 and afterwards Mary Jane spent time with family in Buda and Houston. She passed away peacefully with family at her side on March 10, 2016. A faithful wife and loving mother, Mary Jane is survived by all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her boundless tenacity, her tireless will, and her unflagging loyalty to her husband and family. She will be interred at Calvary Hill Cemetery Mausoleum in Dallas next to her husband Marko Andrew Martich. May she rest in peace
