Loisteen Glimp Kearney

Loisteen spent her early years from birth to marriage at Sundown, Texas graduating Valedictorian of her class in 1942. After attending Abilene Christian College she taught school in Lampasas.

In 1949 she married Opal Kelly Kearney, whom she had declared to be her husband when she was only 4 years of age. They divorced in 1991 after 42 years of marriage.

She also taught school at Balmorhea, Liberty Hill, Georgetown, Lampasas, Bertram and Menard. She will be remembered as a caring teacher who maintained her love and concern for her students long after their school days.

Loisteen is survived by her daughter Kay Kearney of Junction, grandson Justin Trimble and wife Ashley of Water Valley, Texas. Also surviving is her son Kent Kearney and wife Brenda of San Angelo and granddaughters Kasey Lee and husband Ben of Winters and Kelly Macon and husband Robin of Oakwood, Texas. Great grandchildren are Jace Trimble and Evelyn Lee. Loisteen was preceded in death by her parents.

Her graveside and burial will be held at 2 PM Monday, April 1 at Bethel Cemetery.
