Linda Jane Spence, a long time resident of Georgetown, entered this world on April 9, 1947 in El Paso, TX. She was surrounded by her family and friends as she went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2013, at a local hospital.
Linda was welcomed into heaven by her parents Harold and Dorothy Steed. She is survived by her children, Megan Paz and husband Ricky of Bertram and Doug Spence and wife Christy of Killeen. She has one sister, Tweedy Warren and husband Scott Warren of Ballinger.
Linda greatly loved and adored her grandchildren Tommy Paz, Chelsea Paz, Mark Paz, Anna Paz, Daron Spence, Wesley Spence, Sierra Hamm, Diondra Hamm and Chris Hamm. She also had 3 great grandchildren. She also loved her niece, Amber Wieblan and nephews Adam, Clint and Justin Warren. Linda also had 9 great nieces and great nephews.
Linda was a devoted Christian and servant of the Lord. She touched so many lives with her gifts of music, food, cakes, her warm smile and great hugs. She was an accomplished pianist and music teacher. She served as the church pianist for nearly 40 years and directed dozens of children’s music ministry programs and plays. She was always quick to serve Crestview Baptist Church on various other committees and activities.
Linda also had a special place in her heart for her friends with special needs. She spent much of her free time cooking for and assisting senior citizens and shut-ins. Linda also worked part time at a residential home for adults with special needs for 10 years. She was known for her extraordinary patience and a smile for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11:00 am at Crestview Baptist Church; 2300 Williams Dr. Georgetown, TX. She will be interred with her parents at the Liberty Hill Cemetery at a later date.
