On Saturday, April 15, 2023 Linda Kay Hopkins, of Burnet, Tx, was called home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Linda was born in Houston and moved to Austin at the age of five. She graduated from Lanier High School in 1969. She spent 42 years working for the State of Texas, as a Senate Journal Clerk, in the Calendar Clerk's office. During her career with the Senate she worked with countless state senators and governors.
Linda loved life. She spent the last 30 years married to the love of her life, and to take a quote from him, “they packed an awful lot in 30 years”. She was an avid outdoorsmen. From traveling to Africa to hunt big game, tugboat cruising in Alaska after salmon, to many fishing adventures off the Texas coast,she experienced it all, but her favorite place was home, sitting around her fire pit with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband Scott Hopkins, sons Gregg and Kevin Willis, stepson Brent Hopkins, daughter-in-laws Laura and Cheryl Willis, grandchildren Mallory& Matthew Willis and Lillian Willis, her mother Joyce Walker, brother Glen Walker and wife Diane, sisters Debora and Rhonda Walker, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was proceeded in death by her loving father Glenn Walker.
Her loving nature, grace, respect and compassion for others, appetite for adventure, infectious laugh and contagious smile will be missed but never forgotten.
A visitation at clements-wilcox funeral home for Linda will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service at Clements-Wilcox Chapel will occur Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Smithwick Cemetery on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
