Johnny Thurman

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Wynona, Phyllis Mozelle (Sis) Murley and brother-in-law Chuck Murley.

He is survived by his brother Ivan (Bus) Thurman and wife Judy, Keith Thurman and wife Pat. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Johnny was a Christian, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many. For years before he retired from P.E.C. he was a cook and cooked in many area restaurants in Burnet County including the Horseshoe Bay Country Club.

He loved his family and friends and cooking for others. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, and giving gifts.

A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held on Saturday January 8, 2022 at the Oatmeal Schoolhouse. Breakfast will be served from 8-9 AM. The service will be held at 11 AM with a covered dish lunch with meat provided following at 12 PM.
