He was born in Uvalde, Texas on July 20, 1935 to John and Irene Allbritton. After high school he attended the University of Houston and later served as a MP the army for two years. For the duration of his career he worked as an architectural engineer at Shepler’s Construction Company in Houston, Texas. He retired in 1985 and was the happiest while working in his shop or fishing with his son David. John Dee was a very special individual who loved being with family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Irene and David Allbritton and his son Robert (Bobby) Allbritton. John Dee is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carroll Allbritton; sister: Virginia Oakley of Forney; son, David Allbritton and wife Crystal of Salado; neice, Renee Waldrip of Forney; step children; Dana Simpson and husband John of Killeen; Guerin Heckman of Austin; Debbie McAllister of Kerrville; eight grandchildren, Cole Allbritton, B.W. Allbritton; Phillip Allbritton; Mandy Richmond; Carly Simpson Gregory; Joshua Young; Adrianne McAllister; and Amanda Davis; four great grandchildren, David Allbritton, Alabama Richmond, Gabrella Allbritton, and Mathew Young.
