John "JR" Albert Rodgers died July 4, 2024, after a medical emergency. JR was born May 18, 1941 in Shreveport, LA. to Adabell "Thomas" and Fred Alphonse Rodgers, Jr.
JR is survived by Sabrina Henderson Wallin, daughters Jill Rizer and Mitzi Wheaton of Metairie, LA and son Mark Rodgers of Gonzales, LA. Grandchildren Autum Chedotal, Ayden Rodgers, Peyton Rodgers, and Kyteleigh Alford. JR is preceded in death by brother Fred Alphonse Rodgers III, sisters Nita Ann McManus and Linda Sue Hemby.
JR was always up for a party or a game of Mexican Dominoes. He loved scratch-off tickets, cursing, golf, his cat and dog, family and Sabrina, and going to the casinos, not necessarily in that order.
JR will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date TBD.
