James Benson

Robert, as he was known by most, was born in Bartlett, Texas to Odes and Linnie (Jordan) Benson on November 6, 1931, but spent most of his life in Lampasas, Texas.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father, a daughter, Markee, and his only sister Marie Wolf. He is survived by a brother, Fred Benson and wife Joan of Granbury, Texas, a brother Randall Benson and wife Sue of Bertram, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert served proudly in the Army National Guard for 17 years. Robert was a hard worker and a good provider for his family. He was especially loving and patient with his only child Markee, who was the joy of his life even with all of her special needs.

For many years he was a trucker and always had a story to tell. He loved to laugh and never met a stranger. He will missed by many.

The graveside service for Robert will be held at 2 PM Friday, June 28 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
