Bert DeRoy Hanigan, Sr, passed away on April 14, 2025. Bert was born on November 23, 1932, in Whelen Arkansas, to Patrick Henry and Era Hanigan. He had two sisters Velma Cook and Jean Hibbitts. Bert was known for his bigger than life stories. His love for life was filled with fishing, deer hunting, gardening, and pretty much being outdoors, but his most prized possession was the love of his family. If you knew Bert, you loved him, he always made you feel welcome. But, if you knew the real Bert Hanigan, being only 5 foot 9 inches and weighing 140 pounds soaking wet, he would fight a grizzly bear if it looked crossways at him. He was funny, tough, caring and loving.
Bethel Lee Jordan Hanigan, passed away on April 17, 2025. Bethel was born on July 17th ,1938 to James Ivy Jordan and Mary Rambeth Mallett Jordan in Seagraves,Texas. Bethel had a brother Pete Jordan, her identical twin sister, Ethel Bee McDonald and a younger sister Mary Louise Locke. Bethel was known for her caring ways and her love for Bert and her family. She was a gifted artist, seamstress, baker and had a love to do crafts. Bethel took care of Bert and her family with great care, always thinking of others before herself.
Bert and Bethel met in Seagraves,Texas and were married on September 22,1956. They were married for 68 years. In those 68 years, together they raised one daughter, Mary Hanigan Williams (Sammy), and two sons, Roy Hanigan and Pat Hanigan. They poured their hearts into their family and raised their family to be honest, hardworking and loving people. To say their grandchildren were the apple of their eyes is an understatement. Three Granddaughters, Misty Williams Hebert, Ashley Cody (Josh), Alicia Estrada (Erin) and one grandson, Tanner Hanigan (Shelby). They have 11 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. They had numerous nieces and nephews that they loved dearly.
They now share eternity with Jesus what glorious lives. The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57. "Where, O Death is your victory? Where, O death is your Sting?"
A graveside service will be held at the Lindale City Cemetery on Saturday April 19, 2025 at 1:00pm.
