She passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025 in Vancouver, British Columbia at the age of 86 years old. Yok In was born in Shiqi, Zhongshan, China, moved to the Fiji Islands, and eventually immigrated to Vancouver. Yok In was predeceased by her husband Yee Sun, her daughter Teresa, and her infant son.
She is survived by her sons Francis (Simone) and Jonathon, her son-in-law Miguel, and her daughters Bernadette (John), Maureen (David), Bridget and Janet (Michael). She will be missed by her 13 incredible grand-children, and 7 great grand-children. The family would like to give special thanks to the kind and wonderful staff at Mt St Joseph Extended Care.
A funeral service for Yok In will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC V5J1A4. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 2:45 PM to 3:30 PM at Ocean View Funeral Home & Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby, BC V5J 1A4.
