Yan was born in Hoi Ping China – April 14, 1934. She and her husband Royal arrived in Vancouver in the mid 1950’s, after getting married in China. Together, she and Royal made a life together in Canada for over 60 years. Yan is survived by her daughter, Frances and son-in-law Tyler, her sons, Brian, Stuart and Dennis and daughter-in-law Leigh, her grandson, Daniel. Sadly, Yan was predeceased by Royal only a short time ago in 2014. Yan was a strong minded person that had the creativity to get the job at hand done. She was a person that challenged herself from learning a new country to raising four small children. She learned, by herself, how to run a business, cook terrific meals, make small carpentry cabinets, sew dresses, clothing, and any accessories for the home. She and her husband had a chance to travel the world and visited many places in North America, Europe and China. A funeral service will be held November 9th, 2016, at 1:00 pm, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Arrangements under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Burnaby, BC.
