My speech i made for my grandmother at the ceremony.


Hello Everyone,

Thanks for coming. My name is Anthony Leung. I'm one of her grandsons.  She 

was my mother's mom.

I would like to talk about how my grandmother, Wai Kin Yee, raised me as a child 

and how she watched over me always.

She taught me well as I was growing up.  She taught me how to become a better 

person and to always be happy. I remember whenever I always get into trouble 

from school or from my parents, she would always be there for me.  

I also remember every time she walked me to elementary school, she taught me 

how to sing by singing one of her favorite songs. Thinking back and reminiscing 

that tune in my head makes me miss her a lot.

She was my favorite grandma in the entire world. Why? Because she spoiled me 

with candy and food that my parents won't allow me to eat.  I will always 

remember that whenever she came home from vacation or shopping, she would 

always bring something back for me.As I was growing up as a teenager, she 

guided me through the tough times. We usually talked about how to overcome 

hardships in life.  She was always there to support me.  When she had a stroke, 

my heart was broken. At that time I had never experienced something that 

traumatizing.  I prayed for her every time I went to church for her to get well.  As I 

found out that her condition was only going to get worse, I had hope for her and I 

tried to support her - just like she did for me everyday.

Every time I visited her at the seniors home, I wanted to see how she was doing.  

She kept hinting that when she felt better, she would take me to her hometown. 

Though her time had come, I hope that she lived her life to the fullest. Even at the 

seniors home, she would treat me as a spoiled grandson.  She would usually 

save up all the ice-cream and desserts for me whenever I come to visit her. I knew 

she wasn't happy living there but there was nothing we could do. I made every 

visit as pleasant as I could. 

As time passed, I have accomplished many goals and she would always hear 

about it from my mom. It made me really proud. My grandma would often greet 

with praise and she smiled a lot because she was really happy for me. I always 

thought that it was very cute and loving of her.

When her health got worse a month ago as she was diagnosed with cancer, I felt 

as though my heart had stopped and I was in shock. I knew I didn't have much 

time with her. I did my best to go see her as much as I could, before the end that 

I knew was coming. Every time I went to visit I tried to hide my tears and 

pretended everything was okay. Every night in bed, I cried when I thought about 

the time we spent with each other.

The day before her passing, I was really excited to go visit her. But 

circumstances made me too late to see her one last time. I was hoping to tell 

her: you are the best grandmother in the world and I love you very much for that.  I 

wanted you to see me accomplish greater things. I wished I had more time with 

her.

This is my story of my grandma in my life. Please feel free to come up if you have 

anything to say, to express the love you shared with Wai kin Yee before we let 

her spirit rest in peace.

May she rest in peace and spend eternal life with my grandfather.

My grandmother(Paupau)was a smart, strong, and caring person.  I could remember how her and grandpa would look after me and my brothers when our parents were away at work.  I also fondly remember how she would always find a bargain at the grocery store and bring us some nice snacks.  She would make a big dinner for all of our family at her home on special occasions.
I miss you grandma and will always love you.

She had always been the best grandmother to me.  She was like a second mother looking out for me as from a child till now. I would always remember the smile, the things she taught me and how to become the person i am today.  Her passing has affected me greatly.  There wasnt enough time to express my love and thank her for being the best grandmother.  To do so, i'm proposing a speech at the ceremony.  After the ceremony, the speech will be posted on here.

Now time has passed and i still do grieve deeply about my grandmother's passing. I am glad that she's not suffering anymore.  She's happily in heaven with my grandfather looking down on us.  I hope she rests in peace.  May her memories to be cherished and her spirit to be by our sides forever.

My sympathy is expressed through these words.
You may still grieve deeply that your loved one is no longer with you, a loss is a relief for your family members who find comfort in knowing your loved one is no longer suffering.
