Pui Har Tam was born on April 24, 1924 in the Toishan County of Guangdong, China. She was second among eight siblings. Mrs. Tam graduated from Ma Gong School in Toishan. She married Mr. Wing Jun Tam in 1947, moved to Hong Kong in 1954 and raised four sons with Mr. Tam. In 1974, Mrs. Tam and her family immigrated to Vancouver and since then she worked in childcare and restaurants before retiring in the 1990s. Other than serving in the church, Mrs. Tam's interests included growing crops, gardening and cooking. Mrs. Tam was hospitalized in early May of 2020 due to kidney failure and passed away peacefully on May 7 at the age of 96.
