Ping Fun Yip, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 92 in Richmond, British Columbia. He was known for his hardworking and unwavering love for his family.
Ping Fun was born in Guangdong Nanhai. He grew up in a humble background and went through civil war as a child, escaping from one place to another and missing out on the education he needed. Later, he emigrated to Hong Kong and worked as a trainee at a young age. With the encouragement of his wife, he started his own tailor shop and worked tirelessly to take care of his loved ones.
As a grandfather, Ping Fun had a special bond with his grandchildren, showering them with love and care. Though he couldn't communicate much with them in English, he loved and cared for them deeply. He would pick them up after school rain or shine, even if he was not feeling well, and spent quality time with them, creating lasting memories. In a family trip to Japan, the grandchildren fed him a lot of "black" eggs, as there is an old saying that the "black" volcano egg can prolong one's life span. He was well loved by all his family members.
Ping Fun is survived by his loving children and grandchildren, who will always cherish his memory and the profound impact he had on their lives.
A private memorial service will be held to honor and remember Ping Fun's life and legacy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
