Born in Hong Kong, Patrick came alone to Canada in 1974 to attend high school, settling first in London, Ontario. In 1977, he joined his parents and 3 younger siblings and moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. He attended Churchill High School and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University.
He was predeceased by his parents, Shiu Lung Fong and Ching-Ye Fong.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Monisa; his cherished children, Carmen (Toby) and Jeremy (Hana); two brothers and sister; his step-mother Ardina (ah yee).
Patrick met the love of his life, Monisa, and were married for 38 years. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and delicious food. Patrick was known for his joyful nature, his ability to brighten any room, and his uncanny knack for finding the best dining spots. He was a dedicated family man who always put the needs of others before his own. He was the mastermind behind countless family gatherings, always ensuring memorable meals and joyous occasions. His ability to plan and execute events were unparalleled and every gathering lived up to the highest expectations. Patrick’s departure has left a void in all our hearts. May the memories of his laughter, kindness, and culinary adventures comfort us all.
A private funeral service will be held under the direction of Ocean View Funeral Home in Burnaby, BC.
To honor Patrick’s memory, a wake visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14th, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Ocean View Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Friday, November 15th, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
