It is with great sadness that we say farewell to a wonderful wife, a loving mother, and a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Norma Lum nee Koo, born February 9, 1933, passed away on April 30th, 2013 after losing her battle with COPD and pneumonia with her family by her side. Predeceased by her parents Mamie and Peter Koo, and her brother Ted and his son Darwin, Norma will be remembered by her husband Paul, her children Darcel, Debbie (Bill), Daymon (Anne), her grandchildren Jasmine (Jae), Tian, John (Lisa), Duriel, Desire'e, Devon, Whitney, and Alyssa, her great-grandchildren Makyla, Tyron, Hunter, and Ashton, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Born and raised in Vancouver. Norma was happiest cooking her Sunday dinners and having the family and friends together. She enjoyed entertaining, dancing, socializing, and shopping (a LOT!!! ). She always looked forward to meeting up with her many friends on Saturday afternoons at the Oakridge Shopping Center. She was filled with love and compassion for everyone whom she encountered. The family would like to express a special "Thank-you" to all the staff in ICU at Burnaby General Hospital for taking such good care of her. A viewing will be held May 14, 2013, at 7:00pm-9:00pm A service will be held May 15, 2013, at 1:30pm at Ocean View Funeral Home 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, B.C. Internment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park; 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, B.C.
