Nancy is predeceased by her father, Chi Ming Mak; and her mother, Sau Har Mak. She will be missed by her siblings, Samson (Diana), Mary, Wilson, Sally (Henry), Annie, and Hanson (Elsie), her nieces and nephews Elite (Marian), Ovid, Oneida (Kevin), Eleanor (Michel), Annique (Yang Bu), Orton, and Olisa, and her great nieces and great nephews, Adida, Aria, Caia, Connor, Xavier, and Eliane.
Nancy was born in Hong Kong on December 22, 1947. She immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1968 and attended the University of British Columbia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in mathematics.
Nancy was a kind, thoughtful, and resilient person who will be remembered for her generous nature and independent spirit. She was immensely curious about many different subjects and loved to travel. Like much of her family, Nancy enjoyed great food and dining out. Her hobbies included baking, making pork jerky, knitting, reading, painting, playing the piano, and writing letters to her friends in Hong Kong.
A small family service is scheduled for 7pm on June 29, 2021 at Ocean View Funeral Home.
