With the Heaviest and Saddest Heart We announce , Our Mother, Our Guardian Angel, Our safe place to run has passed away, she passed peacefully and quietly in the comfort of her home with her beloved husband and son by her side… All who knew her, whether briefly or over a lifetime knew her warmth and kindness, compassion was one of her many gifts. she had a way of letting everyone know they were special to her, she genuinely cared and loved family and friends deeply.
Most of all, She was a Mom, She was born to be a Mom and she did it perfectly!! Her son Ryan is blessed to have the most amazing mother that this world has ever known….
Nadia was an extraordinary Lady, she was born in Alexandria Egypt. Her background was Greek and Italian, she was highly intelligent and fluent in 5 Languages (Italian, English, Greek, Arabic, French). She travelled the world and followed as family began to arrive in Vancouver BC, she came for a visit which lasted a lifetime. She worked as an international interpreter for government agencies such as the RCMP and immigration dept. soon after arriving in Canada. It took an extended visit by her, and a delayed red light at an intersection one afternoon in early 70’s when a car would pull up and invite a young Italian immigrant in his brand new 74 Cougar XR7 to an impromptu gathering that would bring Nadia and her beloved husband Alfonso together for the first time. They married a few short weeks later and became Poupo e Poupi. Together they had a Son Ryan whom they raised with a warmth and love which words cannot express. They built a life and a home together.
She is survived by her husband Alfonso, her son Ryan (Jennie), Grandchildren Adrian & Arielle, Nieces Martine (Ted) , Marlene (Henry), Josiane (Rafic), Viviana, Maria Jose’ (Xavier), Christina, Roxanne (Anthony), Many Nieces and Nephews both locally and across the globe. She was the last of her generation who now joins her Mother and Father (Antoine, Amelia), Sisters Angela (Lilly), Elena (Eli), Antonietta (Toto), Maria (Mimi) and Brother Constantino (Tino). All Beloved, forever missed, and never forgotten!
