Mary Theresa Liang

1926-2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Mary Theresa Liang (nee Cho) on Friday, October 16, 2020 in Vancouver, BC. Beloved wife of Dr. Francis Liang (predeceased). She will be deeply missed by her 6 children, Evangeline (Charles, predeceased), Francis Jr (Leah), Dorothea (Craig), Raymond, Kathryn (Carman), Irene (Bradley). Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren, Darren, Michael, Erik, David (Alice), Donald (Elisa), Amanda (Matt), Derek, Jessica, Esme, Ethan and 4 great grandchildren, Jennie, Ellen, James, Gia. She will be greatly missed by her brother Robert (Edna) and sister Ginny (Donn), Helen Law and family, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends throughout Canada, USA, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

Mary was a pharmacist in her younger years in the Philippines. She moved, in the late 1950’s, with her husband and 4 young children at the time to Hong Kong where they grew a successful medical practice together. In the late 1960s, she settled in Canada with her husband and 6 children. Her interests included politics, meeting people and she had a great appreciation for good food.

A private funeral service will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home in Burnaby on Friday, October 30th.
